I love the mud line. It's so subjective, And depends on so many varibles.
I can remember when the 70's Fenders came out. We would go through 20 to get one that played right and felt solid.

The ones you play now are the survivors. The rest of them were trashed for falling apart on the stage.

As for mud on a TBird it just depends on your setting and your amps. Also if you want to sound like a getar. It was made for bass at a time when a bass was supposed to sound like a dog house. Not a getar with a stuffed up nose.

i played one at a local shop once and they had to kick me off those things are badass. neck could be a little faster though

whats the main differences between the epiphone thunderbird IV and the epiphone thunderbird elitist? is it worth the extra $$$?

The Elitist is made in Japan. It has a set neck and the same woods as the EPI bird. It is made to look more like the '64 Gibson Tbird, the PUPs are USA and the tuners and hardware are chrome and of better quality than the EPI's.

But I wouldn't dish out the cash for that, cause you can get a used Gibson for $1,000 if you stake out ebay. And If I wanted the look, I'd hunt on ebay for the chrome covers and bridge and go to hipshot for the tuners.

i own one. it was tough to get over the mudyness for a while but i guess i wore the strings a bit and i played wiith my amp and pre amp alot and now i want the sound to have my babys
