equal sound on D and G string

I hope this isnt a redundant question!!!! With my Markbass amp set flat i like the fat sound on the E and A strings of my Precision,however, the sound on the D and G strings has no real bass to them. That,s the case with the Jazz also.What do i have to tweek to get an equal sound, hope this makes sense and thanks for any advice!!!

The ratio of low frequencies to midrange frequencies changes with string gauge and tuning. The higher strings have less 'bass' because they have less mass and are tuned higher.
There's no way to escape the laws of physics, unfortunately. Sorry.

You could upgrade the pickups to EMG's - I know you can raise the pickups on the EMG's so the D/G strings are closer to the same volume as the E & A strings.

Perhaps you can do that with the pickups you have now? I don't work with passives much, but maybe someone else has a better idea.

You could also try a different gauge of strings, something heavier might give you a tone you like better.

you can adjust any P pickup that way. try dropping the E-A coil and raising the D-G coil until the output is more balanced.

also, boosting the lows on the EQ can cause this issue, unbalanced output from low to high. maybe the inherent markbass sound is a little bass-boosted even when set "flat"?

I haven't found anything that makes as big a difference as playing closer to the neck when moving up the G string, and I would try that before trying anything else.

That it's both the D and G strings giving you trouble makes me raise an eyebrow. You can try playing with the pickup height. What kind of strings are you using (brand, model, gauge)?
