Im currently creating my new stack, SVT PRO 3 as the head (rack mounted) with rack mounted tuner etc. But i need something to power each without having a numerous kettle leads flying everywhere. Im not sure what those are actually called, like a power supply or power pack. Sorry for being a bit of a noob.

Any info that can help will be greatly appreciated

A Furman power conditioner in the top of the rack is spaced to hold "wall warts" I think that's what you're referring to.

What exactly do they do?

They are basically surge protectors and regulated power supplies. You plug all your rack mounted gear into the power conditioner, and with one switch it will power up your equipment and protect it from power spikes, etc.

And get yourself some nice short power cables and all you will have to do is plug the main power cable in, your speaker cables, your bass and maybe your DI or Mic and you're ready to rock!

Or Monster 2500 - again, just a place to plug stuff in. Of course their primary function is surge protection but having one makes it easier to set up & tear down at a gig, you only have to plug one thing in. Mine is at the bottom of the rack and I've got room for the X2's 'wall wart' as the X2 above it is somewhat shallower. You might go to Bayou Cables Link Removed and check out short IEC power cables.
