Double Bass Ergo for 375. Good deal?

I have found someone here locally that has an Ergo 5 string they have modded to a 4 string. I am going to look at it tomorrow. They are asking $375. Is that a good deal?

This will be my first upright, been a bass player for a long time but never upright. I feel good about it because it will allow me to try without sinking a ton of money into it to try.

Anyone think its a really bad idea (assuming its in good shape)?

It's not a real upright, but it's a real steal. If I could snipe it away from you, I would in a minute, so go for it...

right I understand its not a true standup. But I feel like from what I've seen and read that it will at least give me an idea if its something I want to pursue and if I can get a hold of it. All without dropping $900+ to find out.

That's a good deal. I got a used Ergo Cello for that price, and I am loving mine.

Go for it, I don't think you'll have any trouble getting your money out of it if you decide to sell at some point. Also, be sure to read through the Ergo Mega-Thread; you'll find out the most common idiosyncrasies with these basses, and the clever solutions that readers have come up with.
