Hi TB’rs, I am going down to one bass as I’m not playing much these days so a few of my best Short Scales are moving on. A smart man once told me, “I’m not a collector, I’m a player and if they aren’t getting played, they need to go”. I’m posting some information right from the EBMM site to help, but I really love this bass. It’s small but mighty and plays like butter. I’m including 2 extra pick guards along with the original black one and a HipShot SS thumb-rest. It has been professionally setup By Mike Vrock of Bordentown Guitar Rescue (amazing luthier) and restrung with GHS light precision flats. It’s in pristine condition with no marks scratches or dings of any kind to be seen upon inspection. It’s never been out of my house and probably has about 2 hours of play/practice time on it. Some of what I found to be helpful with regard to the selector switch:

Position 1 does a well-recorded classic Punchy stingray tone

Position 2 sort of like a jazz bass

Position three Sort of like a P-bass great for Motown type stuff

Bass Boost push-pull fattens up all three Particularly good in position three

Comes with a really nice EBMM HS case and all the case candy.

Maple neck lightweight ash body just under 7.5 lbs

    From the EB website:

The Ernie Ball Music Man short-scale StingRay bass offers a big thumpy round sound in a convenient smaller package. A 30” scale allows for easier playability due to the shorter spacing between the frets. The Ernie Ball Music Man humbucking pickup, equipped with higher output neodymium magnets, has been specially designed for the short scale bass, providing its signature warm tone. Electronics package includes a 3-way rotary switch featuring parallel, true single-coil, and series modes. Like its big brother the Stingray Special, the short scale bass comes standard with a modern classic bridge, 22 stainless steel frets, and new lightweight Music Man tuning machines with a finer gear ratio.

Specifications: Short Scale StingRay Bass Model Short Scale StingRay Bass Size 12-3/8" wide, 1-5/8" thick, 40-7/8" long (31.4 cm wide, 4.1 cm thick, 103.8 cm long)Body Wood AshBody Finish High gloss polyester Bridge Vintage Music Man® top loaded chrome plated, steel bridge plate with vintage nickel plated steel saddles Scale Length30" (76.2 cm)Frets 22 - High profile, wide stainless steel, Neck Width1-1/2" (38.1 mm) at the nut, 2-3/8" (60.3 cm) at the last fret Neck Wood Select Maple Fret Markers5/16" Dot Inlay Neck Finish Gunstock oil and hand-rubbed special wax blend Tuning Machines Custom Music Man, lightweight with tapered string posts and ergonomic clover design Truss Rod Adjustable - no component or string removal Neck Attachment 5 bolt, sculpted neck joint Electronic Shielding Chrome plated aluminum control coverControlsPassive 500kohm push/push volume POT for gain boost, 100kohm tone POT - 0.1uf tone cap Switching 3-way rotary pickup selector Pickups Single Music Man humbucking pickup- neodymium magnets.

I am going to include shipping to the CONUS East of the Mississippi, Add $35 West CONUS, as shipping cost have gone ballistic! I am not looking for offers as I am already priced low, no trades either as I stated, going to one bass. Thanks for looking and please email me with any questions.

    Canada, Eh!
:thumbsup: Nice! how does the volume boost work? Is there a battery?

... ah wait, I see it's labelled "bass boost".. some kind of choke coil arrangement? Guess it's time to google a demo video :)

It’s passive, not sure of the exact circuitry but it works!
