I have a modded LTD bass myself, and I love it. And I'll admit, a part of me does sometimes GAS for a Japanese-made ESP bass. I know ESP and LTD aren't the most prominent brands in bass (even here on TalkBass, some folks still associate ESP as "a guitar company that dabbles in bass") but they've been stepping up their bass game big time over the past several years.
