I'm not going to cut mine, but here is a diagram:

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

That's a computer drawn representation. Couldn't they hire a photographer? Couldn't they actually show how it terminates in the connectors. How well is actually built? What the heck is the shield for? to keep interference out or to keep it from radiating interference. Wires in the walls aren't shielded. And they're not saying if the shield is connected to anything.
Forget it - the whole thing is snake oil. The whole page is making up problems that don't exist, then trying to offer a solution. Typical rip off.

I hope others don't fall for the marketeering.

Thanks for posting that. I found this part of the article intersting in light of the arguments that Robin and Jauqo are making:

Those who rated themselves above the median for their perceived ability to discern differences between power cords scored 49%, the same as those who rated themselves below the median.

Those who on the post-test survey felt most strongly that they had heard differences between cords during the test did not perform better than those who rated their abilities at or below the median. Those who thought they did best scored 45%, while those who thought they did so-so or poorly scored 50%.

You're welcome.

Care to share your training background in scientific research? I've got several master's levels courses in research and measurement under my belt. I don't think that I've seen those results in published article before.
And yet you're choosing to ignore it all on the mistaken assumption that your ears can't be tricked?

Oh yeah, the lawn...sorry. I put it off as long as I can.

This is a pretty relevant quote from the article which is a little long but it's a pretty good read if you are interested.
The point here is that it natural for us to have these perceptions, BUT, please good people, do not confuse them with reality.

Now, why is it that our senses fail us so? A big part of this, especially when were talking about audio, has to do with the fact that what seems straightforward and reasonable is not. It seems straightforward and reasonable to listen to a piece of audio equipment and then develop an opinion on how it sounds. Unfortunately, due to the complex way that we humans take in sensory information and then combine it with prior knowledge and experience, the resulting perception may be incorrect. If we really want to know how something sounds, we must separate out prior knowledge and visual cues and force ourselves to only use our ears. This is why we do the test blind. Our eyes play a HUGE role in our perceptions of audio quality. Counter intuitive? Yes, but true.

I won't appeal to your argument of authority. The argument isn't with me. It's with the science.

I'm pointing out that previous posters suggestions that I'm hearing a difference is due to psychological variables would be revealed by test/rest over periods of time.

There is also a big variable in that type of test wich has been pointed out in the video link you previously posted , is the playing when doin' such test.
If you play stronger when the "good" cable is in you will hear a difference and your pianist too will hear it , and maybe you didn't have the intention of playin louder but since you wanted really bad to hear a difference , your brain is playing a trick on you via your hands and you don't even know it.

Like others said the only way is a double blind test with a constant source (recorded)

Hogwash, it wasn't even subtle. My pianist said after I played two notes: "What did you do? Sounds deeper."

Wow, $150 and all you have to do is prove that you can reliably pick out the ESP from a cheapo every time and be able to prove you didn't falsify the results? Why, you could buy another ESP cable if you could do that!

:D

Listen, I know some of you guys wouldn't wipe your butts with $150, but for most of us, that would be a great incentive to do a legit test with it. Why do I get the feeling that nobody will?

I'm in for $50 for anyone that can reliably pick it out in level matched double blind testing.

Not that I think anyone will.

I just don't buy your explanation that the entire phenomena that I'm hearing can be explained away by "suggestion". That's bad science.

I'm an Electrical Engineer with a Computer Engineering degree, several Masters level course in Electrical Engineering, previous involvement in numerous patents, who now works for a major research university helping professors design equipment for scientific research.

...and I've designed numerous tube and SS amps.

...and I know how power cords work (and don't work).

The replace it with good science...do a blind test that can be verified for truth, and win yourself $150. And pick up an extra $50 if you do it double blind and level matched.

Speak for yourself. I love artistic rendering of scientific topics. Sometimes an artist can bring out details that you might miss in nature. Here's one of my favorites:

Great, Can you explain why there is no way this could be affecting the tone, contrary to my experience? I'm open minded to an informed answer, I swear.
