You should anodize/powdercoat the pickup cover black to tie it all together.

I disagree. The p'up cover looks right in chrome, because the control plate is still chrome.

Potentially Stupid Question: Where do you guys get pickguards [and other parts] for SX basses? Rondo Music sells black and white pickguards but none of the 'cool' ones. Any suggestions?

Either modify a Fender guard with a file of dremel, or go the expensive route , and have one custom made.

I've gone both routes.

Tony at Pickguardian.com did a nice celluloid tortoise one up for me.
