Euphonic Audio Micro

I owned one and it's a nice amp, to my ear very similar to the Acoustic Image I owned at the same time. I eventually sold the EA because there was too much knob twiddling for my taste and I preferred the simplicity of the AI Clarus.

Your profile is thin on information about the music you play. But if the photo is accurate, the EA Micro will sound great with the upright. It's an uber clean amp with zero coloration. I gigged one and enjoyed it paired with a tube preamp for "fatness" added to notes. Of course it has low wattage but it's not mean to be a ball buster. There's lots of information on this amp in other threads, especially the EA megathread. Use the search function.

I play mostly jazz, funk, rock, disco, Americana, all sorts of stuff really. I have a gK 700rb that is great and I still plan to use it but another head could be a useful thing to have( a backup head, access to other tonal options, a micro sized head for travel purposes). The EA micro 550 looks like a good choice. I've heard very positive things so far, the two channel set up is plus. I have not been able to hear it in a live setting or play through one yet. This isn't something that needs to purchased any time soon, just trying to get a feel from players that have gigged with them.

I've got the older Micro 300, that I bought off another TB'er, and have been quite happy with it, for both upright and electric. Most of my work is on upright. When I play electric, it's either jazz or fairly mainstream classic rock.

The amp has a flat voicing when the EQ knobs are centered. The 700RB has a "scooped" voicing, i.e., with emphasis of the lows and highs. So the two amps will sound different. I prefer a flat amp, so it's my cup of tea.

I own two micro amps that alternate between being my main amp and spare, with no particular preference. The other is a GK MB200. So I switch between GK and EA by dialing the GK flat. The EA is a bit more powerful and handles two inputs, so I prefer it when I need those features.

Took my "small room" rig for a gig yesterday.

Micro on a Tweed NL210 V3. Very compact, set vertically. Classy looking too.

It was in a hotel at an awards banquet. Supposed to be outdoors but storms came through. I had brought my iAmp 800 and another cab, but since the micro was in my gig bag, I just used that and the one cab for the indoor change.

Drummer, timbales/congas, keys, sax, two guitars, 5 vocals. Small area though. Sort of in a "pit". Had the amp on a bench. I used an Eventide H9 as a compressor and that helped give me a more vintage tone for the Motown stuff we did. My bass was a Wal Pro IE.

It was plenty loud, cut well, and had a nice clean bottom without any muddy boom.

Saturday I will be us of my larger rig with the 800. But I'm going to bring the micro as a back up for sure.

That gig I'll have a Mike Lull PJ5 with flats and a Skjold Slayer.
