Finally talked myself into buying a sub, again, and actually made it into the store this time.
I was after the Yamaha DXS15 to match my tops (DBR12), but they didn’t have one in stock.
They did have another speaker. An EV SBA760. “It retails for $1700, but we can do you a deal cause it’s been here a while”
So I come back to do a bit of googling. The SBA760 was discontinued in 2010. I doubt this guy has had it on the floor for 6 years……and there was no badge on it either. Smells fishy.
Anyway…..anyone know much about the SBA760 and how it would match with my Yamaha tops. I’m planning on running a pretty basic set-up, the tops have HPF @ 100hz, the EV sub also has a through HPF fixed @ 100hz. I don’t have any external x-over.
So I’m thinking at least 50% off for a shop-soiled, 6 year old (at least), discontinued speaker. Does that seem fair?
