Do you think it's a microphone, as it requires phantom power?

Perhaps it's one of those electrostatic contact microphones built into a bridge.

It's on the market for many years already, but I've never met anybody using it. The bridge blank has a very unusual shape (proportion); that doesn't make it very easy to fit the bridge the way it is commonly done. In addition, the bridge is *very* expensive, and can't be used again when you have to change the bridge, or want to use it on another bass. I think AKG doesn't make it anymore.

It's a multi-element piezo. The phantom power is for the preamp.
