Examples of where ABG works

I've used my Breedlove 5-string ABG in my acoustic trio straight to the board through a Fodera 2010 preamp. It works fine, and sounds great. It's widely acknowledged that ABGs don't really work if not amplified.

Nathan East has used one on stage with Clapton occasionally.

Ernie Ball made an acoustic bass called the Earthwood . It worked because it was huge .

Sadly they are no longer in production .
