I use the Boomerang Wholly Roller, and it's very easy to control. It's also passive and completely top-mounted, so it gets my vote over Classic Audio Roller. However, I wouldn't use rollers for classic wah-style controlling, since they feel rather unnatural for that. They're great for precise filter-control and slow sweeps. Rang™ Wholly RollerMaybe not what you want, but another small footprint option could be an expression roller, there are a couple, here's one:
