Extension Cab for Carvin BR510?

My band now unexpectedly has a small outdoor gig w/out pa support set up, so I'm going to have to add an extension to my Carvin, I think. I like the sound of the carvin. The cab is sealed with 2 10" drivers (they sell for 50.00 each now). I know that none of the carvin extensions fit, so my q's are these:

1. Is it best to go another 2x10, as well as the same type of speakers. If so, I can get an enclosure off ebay that is 2x10, about an inch wider, and put 2 of the carvin speakers, all for 250 or less. Could also get a 12" and speaker, probably for about the same, but I don't know what driver I'd use.

2. Most cabs are ported, so is it necessary both be sealed, or could the extension be ported? Seems like it might be nice to have a little more lows since I won't have pa support. I also question whether the carvin speakers would work well with a ported cab (I know it's a crapshoot).

3. Would it be bad to go with a different brand altogether? If not, I would be open to suggestions, but I'm not seeing much as far as lightweight 2x10, sealed cabinets around 21" wide.

I'm really liking the sound of the carvin though. The amp (bx500) is awesome, and I think the sealed cab with tweeter will be exactly what I need for most gigs to be able to hear myself with a nice sound, and very little to worry about as far as muddiness. So it seems like an extension would be perfect for the times I may need more grunt. Thanks!

Second thought, I might be making this too difficult: the carvin br210 is 270.00, sealed (I think), just a little wider, etc. I'd love to get a discontinued neo, but they are quite a bit wider, and ported, so I don't know about that.

You answered me thread so its only fitting I try to help you with yours,

In regards to your first question:

I called carvin shortly after reading your post, we spoke much about the extension capabilities. He told me I could definitely get a br115 (8ohm) for the br510, in fact, he told me he recently sold that same thing to a guy that lived close enough to check it out himself and said he loved it. Granted he works for the company, but he was very helpful and thats probably what i'm going to end up doing (his name's adam BTW)

Hope I was helpful.

Thanks. That reinforces what I was starting to think. The only thing that bugs me is that they are not the same width. But on the other hand, I'm not usually one to worry that much about looks. Fwiw, there are a ton of carvin cabs on the guitar center used site. I think the cheapest br115 is 209.00, which is not cheap enough to go used. But in my experience, if you watch closely, a cheaper one will pop up eventually. Fwiw, I noticed Adam also sells blems and stuff on ebay (there's a discounted python patterned one on there now!).
