I just bought a Markbass SD800 so this has to go. Autumn deal....... $750.00 shipped conus only With 4u rack case. Tubes are Tung Sol and will be pulled and packed separate.
Some people were leary about the buzz so hence the lower price.
I know other people on here had made me offers before. I don't remember who you are, so I want to apologize for that.

I bought it on Ebay it was made in the earlier part of 07 USA made. The guy shipped it to me I plugged it in and it went into default. Well, what had happened is one of the tubes shorted and blew out one of the resistors. I had that replaced and all new tubes and everything checked out good. It does have a buzz sometimes when turned on from standby. I called my tech as well as Ampeg and they both said it was normal.

About the buzz/hum. The only time the amp makes this noise is when switched from standby mode to on and doesn't do it all the time. Otherwise the amp is quiet except with fan on. It's been over yr since the fix with no issues. And I paid over $200 for new 6550 Matched tubes. Weight is 70# according to website.

No overseas shipping(sorry guys).

Because of the low price no paypal.

I going out of town for 3 weeks ( hunting in Northern Quebec) and will have no internet availability. So if you buy now I would be able to get it out before I leave.
I will be in town until this Fri. 24th.

Thanks

There is no hum when playing. Just a buzz when turned to on from standby. I've been using it with no extraneous noise.

that hum seems to be a common thing among these amps, I have one and it does the same thing to me. Does not affect performance of the amp at all

free bump for a fellow svt 2 pro-er

Thanks for the vote of confidence. At worst it's just annoying.

no problem, the only reason I didn't get to sell mine was because the guy didn't like that hum when it turned on. It's really nothing and doesn't affect anything playwise, and it's common in every SVT 2 Pro, guy still didn't want it!

I guarantee it is normal for this amp to do this, and there is nothing wrong with the amp

There's a couple of reasons why I'm selling it. The main one is my back is toast. The second is I have 4 heads and a lead on a Sadowsky SA-200 which is half the weight of the SVT.

I'll second that stamp. I've been enjoying that sound of pure power surging to life every time I crank up my II Pro. Click, "HHummMMMMMMMMM" - then silence... That is until I take it off standby and play my first note - then "HELLO WORLD! THIS IS WHAT ROCK 'N ROLL BASS IS SUPPOSED TO SOUND LIKE!!!"

*Bump*

I think that initial hum is just the beast waking up.

I don't know if it's just inherent to the Pro II but I was at the music store the other day and fired up the ampeg SVT classic(Vietnam) and it did not do it.

I also have a SVT III Pro forsale it's an older one with white lettering. It's in decent shape. I had it serviced and a couple of cold solder joints taken care of. $300 + ship & ins.

I can't speak for any other model - but I completely recognize what you and the others here are talking about. It's exactly what happens with mine with I fire it up. I've had mine for... uh... close to 15 years now... It's always done that and never proved to be a problem.

I am back in town. Someone 90% wanted it but didn't reply to my PM two days ago so it's on the block again.
I'll mention again that I will not be taking Paypal. Please email me rather than PM. [email protected]

My USA SVT-CL definitely does it, and let me tell you, it's a sound like none other.

I'll third the "Stamp of Approval" for a fellow modern SVT owner.
