Fantastic customer service from Peavey.

I've owned a lot of Peavey gear and still do. But the only time I had to use their customer service it was disappointing. I had bought a new combo amp, it was very heavy, I wanted to add handles that meant cutting into the case, and I wanted to find out how I could do so without voiding warranty. I emailed twice, they never replied.

The cost of spine damage far outweighs the cost of a destroyed amp, so I did the handles anyway.

Maybe they treat their foreign customers differently.

That's odd, I'd say. I would guess that your email might have gone to a spam filter or was otherwise missed, probably because of your location. A phone call does a lot, but I imagine with international rates plus the (what is it, 13 hour?) time difference, calling would have been pretty difficult.

Maybe.

I would expect a pro organization not to have spam filter issues with a published contact email address, and to have processes to ensure no SNAFUs. A phone call was no use to me since I wanted a written statement that my warranty would be in effect after the mod.

I've found helpful techs at lots of companies. It's the suits you have to watch. This may be what others have hit in their Peavey good news stories.

Not dissing Peavey in general.

And if Hartley Peavey is reading this he can send me one of his big old tube bass heads and all is forgiven :)
