Fast jazz licks (how do you do it???)

Did I mention to try transcribing?

Seperates the boys from the men, and the girls from the women folk.

Holy **** man. You just succeeded in grabbing that guilt from not transcribing lines that I've so successfully pushed down somewhere deep in my conscience and yanking it back up my throat. o_o Damn I hate transcribing! It takes so much damn time even though it'll probably be ultra-beneficial to my musicianship. Talk about being damned lazy. :\

Thanks for the spanking bro. Gonna work on a few lines I've memorized on my fretboard and getting it down on paper and analyzing it. *sigh*. :atoz:

GET A GOOD MENTOR/TEACHER/FRIEND/MUSICIAN to teach you or study alongside you. Learning jazz was never meant to be you and a theory book, no matter how comprehensive it is. Live the jazz life - listen to as much live jazz as you can, transcribe bass lines from recordings of jazz bass greats (you may not want to do Jaco just yet), learn your scales (much easier said than done, esp when you move on to the minor scale and its modes), always practice with a metronome, and again, get a good teacher.
