Fastest playing flatwounds?

What strings would you recommend as the fastest playing fatwounds?

I never thought of flats as being fast or slow....

I heard that if you rub your neck with milk it plays faster.

Seriously, just try some different brands out. I personally have never found a flatwound string that I couldn't coax a good sound of, I have three different sets of flats just laying around in case I get the whim for it.

I would think it would be difficult to play sticky strings.

For me, the TI's take so little effort to play that they basically play themselves. Try those...I'd call them fast strings!

Yes, but I try to keep sticky substances off my strings.

D'Addario Chrome Flats are pretty fast on my Yamaha 4-string due to the tension of the strings. But I prefer TI flats which I have on my StingRay 5. As soon as I get some extra cash I'm putting TIs on my Yamaha, too.

Good to hear. I just got my first set of TI flats yesterday that I ordered off the internet. Haven't even put them on yet. I hear so many talk about them I thought I would give them a try. Though the James Jamerson's are going to be tough to upstage.

I have my electric basses strung with Thomastik-Infeld jazz flats and have had absolutely no problems with them, including stickiness; alas, any problems with speed reside with me.

My upright basses are also strung with TI flat-wounds, and I've found that even after playing upright to the point of near-exhaustion, playing just about any electric bass, irrespective of the strings or action, is comparatively fast and easy.
