About those slides...reminded me of another tune with intro slides, "Love Plus One" by Haircut 100. Yeah.
This is a tutorial by their bassist, Les Nemes.
About 1:40 in, he says every one asks & he just sez they're "pretty random...no specific notes".

Sorry this is so late. I came back to the forum and noticed this. Your playing is awesome. I grew up watching the Cosby Kids and watching you play it made me smile.
