I've got an Aguilar AG500 with a DB112 ext. cab that growls with my brown dog. It's not that loud but for what you want to use it for it may work for you(also it's pretty light).

Another vote for the Orange Bass Terror here. I originally bought it as a backup to my Tecamp Puma 1000. In the end, I was so impressed with the Terror that it's become my main amp. It just loves grit, overdrive and fuzz. The Tecamp is also an amazing little amp. I'd put the Terror above it for OD and fuzz though.
the SVT 5 Pro is a great sounding head, and has a distortion channel that can be switched on as well as mixed with the clean tone.. sounds really good, and completely controllable.

It's a stupidly loud head. I barely push it past a 3-4 on master and gain and thats for medium sized rock clubs. Some of those venues just run the bass without PA support - and thats factoring in that I'm only using a 4ohm Glockenklang 2x12 as a cab. I've played some outdoor gigs and bigger venues and can't imagine a setting where it would struggle - especially if you are using an efficient cab.
+1 on the loudness. This sucker screams. I run mine through a Berg AE212 and it can handle any volume of the amp plus any effect a can throw at it. I like to keep the master down around 1.5 or 2 and boost the gain to 5 or 6. The gain knob makes it sound like you've added a mid grit overdrive....so with a fuzz it can get DIRTY! Plus it's a pretty mid present amp so it doesn't get ultra muddy.
The reason I'm asking is because I've yet to take it out on a gig or even out of my house. So when I crank it...it sounds muddy and rattles the house. I just want to play it loud at a show or something so I can actually hear it where it needs to be heard.
I like my Acoustic B200 combo. I like the sound of 15" with overdrive or fuzz. It has a notch knob too. Lets you find that freq that makes you stand out.

Its a very dead sounding room so everything sounded muddy and garbled at first. It took me a while to find the right settings with the Terror for my basses. Not to mention I run an old Ibanez BE10 EQ in my effects chain. But even without the EQ, when I got it on stage I found the amp to be pretty mid boosted.....which I like, but different strokes for different folks. It depends on the stage and room too.
I did crank the amp in the studio a couple weeks ago while recording...just because the cab was in an isolation room and I so rarely get to crank the thing. I got some crazy distorted/broken up/dirty tones on tape! My next plan is to order a modded Iron Ether Oxide and see how the Bass Terror/Oxide sounds.
hey man, I run a Bergantino HT112 and an HS210 into it.
Sometimes (like yesterday) I take out the 112 and just leave the 210 plugged in at 8 ohms because the low end is not as present.
Sometimes I feel like my AE212 is overkill. Especially with heavy effects on the Terror. I usually dont have to turn it past 2. And if I`m not feeling lazy, I`ll bring my Ric to shows and run stereo out. The bridge pickup through effects chain to the Terror....and then neck pickup clean or through EQ to my Supro Taurus running a Laney 115. This allows some clean lows mixed in with the dirt...and keeps the sound full. Although my old Supro is another head that handles fuzz/dirt very well. Good tube warmth for dialing in vintage fuzz through a pedal.
Cool to hear how other players are using the Terror.
My tip is to always run your bass and effects with the active option pressed. I use a passive Lakland Glaub and a bunch of pedals and have found that it runs to overdrive too quickly if the passive mode is on the Terror. It works great in active mode though and provides me with much more clarity at higher volumes. The grit is still there too, it just dials in a bit later.
See if you can find one of the Sunn 300T amps...those reissues rock for fuzz action. Full Tude warmth, 2 channels...one for clean one for overdriven fuzz awesomeness.

Dowsnside is that they are heavy as balls, but because of the preamp set up you can get nice compressed overdrive at pretty low volume, especially on the extra drive channel....gain cranking and master pretty low......
