Favorite session bassist

Jamerson, Will Lee, and Pino definitley stand out, but right now, I'm really feeling "Ready Freddie" Washington.....the playing is just silly on that old Anita Baker and Patrice Rushen stuff..........
 
ALL of these are so great and to be admired.

I'd have to give it to Pino though for his sheer versatility and authenticity in all those styles he plays. From the reigning king of Neo-Soul, to being a 80s fretless god, to tearing it up with the Who? Not many can do that wide range so convincingly.

And man, Chuck Rainey and Will Lee to me are the epitome of BAAAADDDDNESS....

I didn't see Mike Elizondo's name on this thread. I also got a chance to see Oskar Cartaya...he's made such an impression on me as well.
