Favorite settings for Bad Monkey?

Ahh mate, i like:

Volume: Your choice
Bass: Low like 9 o'clock to 12 no more.
Treble: High like in the 3 to 4 o'clock range
Gain: All the way baby!

Playing with a pick, and a verb that sounds effing AWESOME like Chris' Knights of Cydonia intro. DUM Chicka DUM chicka DUM, DEE DEE DEE.

The chicka's are optional but sound awesome.

Have fun!

Got a modded one (not humphrey but similar), I eitheir use it as a full on OD/Dist, in which case I max eveything (well, excpet volume) but roll bass back a little to stop boominess, or I use it for a nice tubey/cheap mans VT bass sound, breaking up a little but not quite distorting, when bass is around 3'o'clock, treble around 1 or 2'o'clock, gain around 9'o'clock

Might be getting replaced with a VT bass when I have cash to throw around, but for now I love the thing

Don't replace it with a VT Bass, use them together (BM -> VT). The overdrive produced by this combo is far better than what you can get with either pedal alone. IMHO of course.

By the way, I just replaced my Bad Monkey with an Xotic Bass BB Preamp. They sound almost identical!

Wow...surprised at some of these responses.

I find my Humphrey's modded Bad Monkey would blow the entire amp/cab if I tried to max everything...WAY too hot. I have the volume at 9:00ish, bass and treble to taste (really requires bass at about 1:00 and treble needs to be up to almost 3:00 to keep the articulation in the tone). I only put the Drive at about 11:00 to get a very nice overdrive/distortion. The combination of this gives me about a 3db boost on my clean tone with nice overdrive. Anything above about 10:00 on the volume was so much of a boost that it is unusable.
