Favourite bass for slap?

The P sound is still my fave for slapping. Just like another poster said, it has that earthy sound.

My second choice would be a J (with the bridge pu rolled back a little!)

The Jazz..because of the way the strings narrow more toward the neck. It's like they had the technique in mind when they designed it.

The P pickup is a little harsh for slap imo. Maybe some can deal with it...

P-bass. Second vote to the Stingray. I have nothing against the J slap sound, but it's overused IMHO.
