Just a lighthearted question here that came to my mind because I have an airplane travel ahead with plenty of idle time expected...
Do you have any favourite apps on your mobile phone, for something musical to do when you are away from your instruments (and possibly anything else) and a have a few minutes to spare?
I tried quite a few over time but those who seem to have stuck around with me are these:
The Ear Gym is mostly focused on listening exercises (so you better have headphones if you're in a public place) although it also has reading/writing exercises as well, and even singing ones. I had this for a few years and use it normally to improve my hearing skills at recognizing intervals, chords and scales.
Vivace is a tiny app for reading standard notation. I started using it mainly for reading piano scores, especially notes on ledger lines.
Rhythm Trainer has rhythmic solfege exercises you do by tapping the screen. The free version is limited to 15 minutes a day, but the real downside is that IMO the exercises are still not challenging enough for me: nothing beyond triplets and 3/4 signatures (BTW, if you know other apps with killer rhythm exercises please let me know!)
There's another I recently added but haven't had time to use, called Maestro and meant for composition. I don't know why someone would want to compose on mobile since the UI is necessarily very slow to use, but my idea was just to use it to test the sound of chord progressions or rhythm patterns.
