My favourites are Ray Brown + Milt Jackson - Much in Common. and the Ray Brown Trio Summer Wind, especially the version on Lil Darlin. Both are jazz bass perfection.

This is it! The first record is merely terrific, the second one is fantastic, transcendent music from both players.

I made a CD with both albums on one disc and it gets a LOT of play in the shop.

On the OP Trio album Cole Porter Songbook, "In the Still of the Night" (it's the first track and must be arranged by Ray Brown because it is under his name). It is truly a song that spotlights the bass line. Beautiful playing!

On the album The Sound of the Trio (recorded at London Inn in Chicago), "Kadota's Blues" is that kind of wonderfully punchy, energetic, bluesy sound that was his signature, one of the really good ones!

Those are two of my favourites.
