I have a new F Bass BN6 build on order & thought Id start a thread to pass my time waiting. It will essentially have all the standard options, with a Trans Blue No-Pore Filler (NPF) finish. It basically means I will feel the wood grains.
I chose to order it through Link Removed . Dave Scovells customer service has been excellent throughout the ordering process, even from the point I inquired about the price. Initially, I emailed him early 2012 & he gave me a price, but unfortunately I was unable to place an order last year. When I emailed him (once more) in March, he still offered the same 2012 price to me even though F Bass prices increased slightly in 2013.
Hes been in regular communication with F Bass, already sending me sample photos of what the bass may look like with the NPF finish, (although I already had an idea from FretSpots YouTube videos.)
My order was placed early April and my estimated wait time will be approximately 3 months. (Ive already been waiting 5 months, and counting, for my Warwick-Rockbass Alien Deluxe 6 ordered in Nov-2012.)
Upon the basss completion, I gave Ultimate Basses permission for Jason Raso to record a demo video for their YouTube page. (At least that way, the bass will have a documented decent performance before I touch it. Maybe a portion of his skills will transfer into the bass and passed on to me when I receive it. Ha ha!)
P.S. Donovan (FretSpot) is great. It was simply more economical for me to place my order within Canada (considering the sum of the instrument price, shipping within Canada, avoid customs fees/brokerage, etc.)
