FBT Subwoofers ?

Anyone know anything about these powered subs or this brand?

I can get a pair for $600. We play mostly small clubs and bars.

Never heard of them....that's never a good sign.

I rarely see powered subs on the secondhand market (my first choice) so, if you have to buy new, I'd take a look at the known quantities....Peavey, Carvin, Yamaha, etc. You could probably pick up a pair of decent passive subs for ~$400 and add a modestly powered amp for $250-300. I realize that's not your first choice but it would meet your needs while remaining close to budget.

A JBL 18" powered sub, asking $500/B.O. IMO, this will more than do the job for you.

IMO, better to have one xlnt sub than two mediocre ones.
