Guy would always saw through his bow as part of his stage act. I thought it got in the way. OTOH I remembered him, FWIW.Well, according to the high tech tracking systems set in place by UPS, my Bergantino CN 212 has been in Louisiana for three days!
I fear that it will only play zydeco music when it arrives!!
I guess I had better dig out and dust off the old Doug Kershaw records...........

Where you really are justified to fear for your gear,
is when you're an out of town band, playing showcasing clubs in New York!
Words to the wise!Regarding on the road security.
Big bands have security personnel.
Up and coming bands are generally on their own.
We brought the biggest baddest bouncer we knew who was paid to sleep in the truck, armed.
There are organized gangs of gear thieves who hang around showcasing clubs,
just waiting for anyone in the group to take their eyes off the gear, offloading or re-loading.
We were showcasing at Gildersleeves, next to CBGB's where Plasmatics were playing the same night.
We had a 16 foot box body van full of gear, 12+ guitars, keys, drums and we had to park the truck curbside
to unload and re-load.
These clubs are/were in the old Bowery section of NYC.
The gangs use a spotter to tell the grab and run guys when/if to strike.
He maintains a clear view of loading areas.
If they see especially nice gear, and can't hit you loading, they'll follow your van or truck.
Some good friends thought I was exaggerating, did not listen and lost $22,000.00 in gear including a vintage 57 Gold Top.
Parking overnight at a hotel, get security to show you the best well lit area for your truck.
If at all possible, back your truck up tight to a masonry wall, so no one has access to the door and chock the wheels.
Weather permitting pay a friend to sleep in the truck.
Before leaving the vehicle unattended, pull the ignition coil wire, as a quick easy way to disable the ignition.
The thieves took my friend's entire rental truck, because they didn't listen to me.
Of course they look for out of town license plates and rental vehicles.
This kinda crap is why people who have vintage stuff are not taking it on the road any more.
