Fender 1983 Jazz Bass Price?

Hey everyone

Just curious if anyone can ballpark the price of an '83 jazz bass? One got offered in a trade and I'd love to know what the value of the bass is

Lot's of people don't like this period of Fender, but I do, depending on how many late 70's holdover parts it has.

For me - if it has an "E" series S/N, it's a good indicator of a quality bass. I'm thinking $800-$1.200, depending on all sorts of things.

Does it have dots and binding? i think likely not as I think that was 81 or 82, id like one of those. Or is it the E series with the F tuners and 3 bolt bridge?

I agree - that's very cool. I passed on a 65/66 dots, binding and paddles jazz many years ago I coulda gotten cheap. Ugh!

Are the pups in the 70' position? I think in 83' the were changing from the 70's back to the 60's. I'm not an expert, its just from what I've observed. I'd think it would be worth more in the 70's position.
