Fender 50th Anniversary Jazz Bass

I played one of these yesterday. REALLY, REALLY nice. Just gorgeous.

Looks great, plays effortlessly and sounds amazing. I want one.

Unfortunately $2100 Canadian plus taxes = approx $2400 (USD is at parity). Waaaayyyy to much $$$ for this bass IMO. I paid less for my 1973 "Geddy Lee" Jazz and 1974 P basses.

A used one for $1200? I am in!

If this is a limited run kinda special bass that is really good and can be had for $1,700. I would think it to be a much better deal that a US jazz for something like $1,300

Resale will be much better (and I like CA red; just wish it was bound)

They became a very sought after item I bought one new in Dec 2010. It took me 12 months to find one then stupidly I sold it and now I just found one for 1,050 which is the best price I have seen used to date. The guy did use it but for the most part it is nice. These will only go up in value

Picked up one of these just before Christmas - used obviously, but mint. It is fast becoming my main gigging jazz bass - I recently sold a Sadowsky metro and a 68 Jazz because they simply weren't getting the work since the fiftieth anni arrived. I find the anniversary to be more responsive and punchy than the other two, it just feels more "solid". That said, my 63 J ain't going anywhere ;).

Just put down the money on one of these. Missing the case, which sucks, but supoer stoked on the bass.
Missed my chance to buy one a year or so ago, and regretted it until another one came up now.
Ended at about 1800, some slight chips in the nitro, and checking all over :D

I snatched it up cus theres also a 1969 CAR mustang for sale here, and that's faded the CAR into some kind of weird racing orange, which is absolutely GORGEOUS.

Once I get my hands on this, I'm gonna subject it to some strong UV and see if I cant get that fade too ;)
