Would like some input and opinions on these strings. I currently use GHS Balanced Nickels on one of my PBasses they are pure nickel also and I love them. I would like to know how these 2 sets compare.

FENDER 7150 PURE NICKEL STRINGS?

Just imaging the fender stock 7250 bass string if you familiar with it , the pure nickel 7150 has smooth warmer tone, lack attack , a bit higher tension, smoother on fretting hand but stiffer plucking feel and notable lower output.
If lower output be your problem, I suggest you GHS PW7200L .

I'm not having a problem especially with the Balanced Nickels as they are staying on the bass they are on. The Fender 7150's came to my attention from another thread I was reading. I'm getting ready to buy a couple sets of strings for my other basses and was just curious about them. Thanks for the input!
Thanks for the input was just curious about them. The GHS Balanced Nickels I have on my American Special PBass are lacking nothing. The best strings I've ever used!
I tried them once, the 40-95's. Great sound, IME it is the highest-tensioned nickel round for whatever reason, core wire, ???

I like them on one of my Jazz basses. Adds some depth and warmth, removed the honk and provided a big smooth (but not lifeless) sound. Really nice on that bass--for what I want. But they aren't as good a fit on anything else I've tried them on. Might be great, but it all depends on what you want. They don't sound exactly like the GHS BNs.
I have a set of the GHS BNs, and they will have more definition and mid punch. I think. I don't recall trying them on the same bass to know for sure.

Thanks for the info! I was just curious about them. I agree about the GHS BN's they have plenty of low end with really good mid punch without too much in the treble. I absolutely love them!
I found a set of Pre 2010 Mexico made Original bass 7150 (40-95) from my local music store.
Much open tone than current 7150 .
No metalic zing at all.
String stiffness a tap higher than Labella LTF4A.
Gold silk are real cool from viewing.

Wow, what a nice find! I love that gold silk the way it matches perfectly with the Squier headstock!
I really like the 7150s, and agree about their general sonic signature: Good fundamental, moderate mids with a nice voice, and low treble content. Tension on the 45-100 set I have is higher than some others in that gauge but not excessive... I like the way they feel. They sound a lot like the La Bella Chicago Style pure nickels I'm currently running, with slight differences.

Old post I know….I think the 7150s are underrated, pure nickel has it’s faults. I replaced DR Sunbeams with 7150s ML on my jazz and it gave me the thicker less zingy sound I was looking for. I came back to rounds from flats so they sounded more familiar to me.

The above illustrations match my experience: Rounder, not quite as zingy. I really liked them. For a while, Fender offered a 7150 single .130 so you could make a five string set, but they discontinued those a few years ago unfortunately.
Sounds like you might also like the GHS Balanced Nickels, which are pure nickel on a round core. Keep in mind the round cores by GHS are not nearly as flexible and loose-feeling as the round cores by DR. I've tried the 40-101 set and found them to be noticeably firmer in feel than the Sunbeams 45-105. Being pure nickel, they're also warmer in tone with a subdued top end.
Thanks, I remember trying them some years back and seemed fine but got side tracked with flats for a while. I might get 45-100 I’m taking a break for the 40s because I like a bigger .65 D string.
