I swear if it weren't for impulse purchases, I wouldn't buy anything at all.... I have for sale a Fender Adam Clayton Signature Precision. I saw this in my local guitar shop the other day and I couldn't resist. While I absolutely love this bass, a vintage Ric 4001 has caught my eye so the AC has to go. Please do a little research on these basses if you aren't familiar with them. The Adam Clayton Signature is a limited edition, and with the research I've done, it is my understanding only 82 were made. The purple metal flake finish (with matching headstock) is absolutely stunning. Here are the specs.... Model # - 0190072787 Series - Artist Color - Purple Sparkle Body - Alder Body Finish - Gloss Polyurethane Body Shape - Precision Bass® Neck Material - Maple Neck Finish - Gloss Polyurethane Neck Shape - Custom Adam Clayton “C” Scale Length - 34″ (864 mm) Fingerboard - Maple Fingerboard Radius - 9.5″ (241 mm) Number of Frets - 20 Frets Size - Vintage String Nut - Synthetic Bone Nut Width - 1.5″ (38.1 mm) Position Inlays - Abalone Blocks Truss Rods - Vintage-Style Pickup - Custom Shop ’60s Split Single-Coil Precision Bass Controls - Master Volume, Master Tone Pickup Configuration - Split Single-Coil Bridge - 4-Saddle HiMass Vintage-Style Bass Hardware Finish - Nickel/Chrome Tuning Machines - Fender®/Hipshot Vintage-Style “Lollipop” Pickguard - 3-Ply White Pearl Control Knobs - Knurled Flat-Top As I mentioned, I bought this bass from my local guitar shop and while the bass is like new, there are two dings in the body which I have tried to capture in the pics (the dings were already on the bass when I bought it). Other than these two dings, the bass is absolutely mint. Also, the pics show it with Dunlop straplock buttons installed, but I will change these back to the original strap buttons. The weight comes in just a touch under 9 lbs (8 lbs, 15.5 oz) on my postal scale. It comes with the custom houndstooth G&G case and all of the case candy. Price is $1500 $1425 + actual shipping costs. Just contact me for a shipping quote. Sorry, I'm not looking for any trades.....although to be honest, I would definitely consider trading for the Jazz version of this bass. Feel free to PM me or shoot me an email at [email protected] with any questions. Thanks for looking!
I admit this is a "love it" or "hate it" bass. Personally I think it is one of the coolest and unique basses I have ever owned. When my wife saw it, I believe she used the word "hideous" to describe it. No in between on this one.... Regardless, it is still available and waiting for a new home.
wow, a clayton P and matching clayton jazz for sale at the same time ( @Quadzilla ) on the classifieds. someone needs to by both and give these twins a good home. GLWTS !
