Fender Aerodyne bridge replacement

So I though a bridge replacement is long overdue for that piece of scrap metal original Fender bridge I got on my Aerodyne.

Please share your experiences and thoughts on choosing a good bridge -

also my main concern is that due to the recessed bridge cavity in the body many of them wouldn't be quite compatible. I've heard of a solution filling the cavity with aluminum foil as densely as possible and placing the bridge top of it.

What about one of the current issue American Standard bridges? They likely have the same footprint as the bridge you have now, or near enough as to negate the issue with the recess.

The Aerodyne bridge's footprint is a touch smaller than the usual American equivalent bridge. Hipshot has done customs to fit the Aero recess, but it's still a vintage style bent plate bridge.

If you go with a bridge that has a larger footprint, like a Badass II, Schaller roller bridge, or Hipshot A style, it would sit on the outer surfaces of the recess (covering it entirely) and still mount into the same holes if you get one with a matching pattern and not the 3 hole variety.

There is less metal-to-wood contact this way, but it's completely not noticeable in terms of sound. It works fine, and sitting just a little higher, doesn't require the saddles to be raised as high on the set screws as the original.
