Musician's Friend was giving 15% off for Veteran's day so I ordered a 3 tone sunburst AS Dimension V with rosewood fingerboard. Ed Freidland gave the bass a great review and it sounded great in his video.

Bass arrived Tuesday and it looked good but I was disappointed that it weighed 10 pounds, .5 ounce. The weight was not a deal breaker but it was heavier than I had hoped. Started tuning the bass and found that the tuner for the G string had been damaged and the ear was loose on the tuner shaft. Not good. Tuned it and plugged it in and well...it is a very cool sounding bass if you like a very aggressive tone. Not my style.

I was also turned off by the "hand rubbed oil" finish on the back of the neck. It looked and felt exactly like unfinished wood. A couple of sweaty gigs in the Texas sun will have the back of that neck looking nasty, I'm afraid.

So I sent it back for a refund. They had no more in stock in the color I wanted so I decided to get a refund instead of an exchange.
