IMG_3270.jpg Fender Artist Series Jaco Pastorius Jazz Bass in excellent condition. $1850 or B.O. This is a great example of the Jaco bass. It has a super resonant alder body with American Vintage single coil Jazz pick-ups and sounds fantastic. It has a Jaco neck plate, and a deluxe brown hard shell case with lots of case candy.

I prefer a sale as I have recently ordered a dream fretless 5 string, but might be interested in some sort of trade. Trade interest: powered cabinet to go with my Phil Jones Bg-300 combo (Phil Jones, Wayne Jones etc.), Phil Jones amps and cabs or others.

This is a nice bass if you want the Jaco feel and sound without a Fender master builder throwing it down that stairs or dragging it around the Fender factory on a chain, and tripling the price. If I didn’t have two kids in college I’d be all over this. GLWTS

Thank you, rocmonster. This bass really does have the feel of a fine, high quality bass and the tone of the vintage pickups is perfect. If I weren't mostly a five string player, I wouldn't be thinking about selling it.

The American Pro "should" be a better bass. Graphite reinforced neck. Carved neck heel. But as I listen to clips of both, the Jaco just sounds more "fretless" to me. Still tempted.

Yes, it does have a great sound. The fact that it is passive makes it so simple and yet it gets so many great sounds. My theory is that the pickups with the super resonant body are just a great combination. Anticipating selling this, I have been playing it at home quite a bit and continue to love the sound and the feel of it.
