Fender case fit question.

I only have a gig bag for my P and am in the the market for hard case. My neighbor mentioned he had a Jazz case in his attic I'd be welcome to. Before I ask him to dig it out, I was wondering if a P will fit in a J case easily enough.

I see that there are aftermarket ones that'll fit either, but Fender makes two separate cases, so I'm not sure. I don't have a lot of extra space and would fell like a real heal giving it back or tossing it out if it doesn't work.

In my experience a P will usually fit in a Jazz case just fine, but a Jazz won't always fit a case designed for a P (the Jazz is a little longer)....even though I haven't come across many of the "P" only cases. My guess is your bass will fit just fine....not to mention if he's giving it to you, there's nothing to lose.

+1. The Jazz is normally a little longer than the P.
