...would have been nice to hear the tone rolled off on EVERY pickup and fingerstyle played on EVERY and ALL pickups...why does every single bass demo have to have the tone knob dimed 99% of the time???

There should be one (1) BASS riff that covers the entire neck so you can hear what it sounds like in every register, then play that same riff on each pickup, playing the same riff at different tone-knob settings on each pickup setting, playing the same riff fingerstyle/thumbin'/pickstyle. With less yakkin' you'd actually have enough time within a short demo to cover all the sound potential of the bass. Bonus points for throwing some fuzz or effects on it at the end of the demo. Done!

Nifty little bass. I like the bridge pup angled back on the bass side, the Jag body with the Tele headstock (bonus: matching colour) and the asymmetry of the fret-markers makes total sense to me.

Just needs some Lollis...

I always wonder when you hear a demo of a new bass why they have the worst $2 rounds, the treble turned up full, the amp set to accentuate the highs and mids, and a little distortion box running.

Then complain about it not having any bottom end. Makes you wonder what their own rig sounds like. I'd have to think it doesn't sound like that.

Should mention too that I find it amusing that people actually care at all about the name of a bass. I don't quite get that. If that were the case with me, I'd be in trouble with my Big Al. My Bongo, too. Hmm... my Gibson EB is kinda weird come to think of it, and why am I playing rock music with a Jazz bass?

I've no problem with it being called "Rascal", beats it being called the "Nimrodder 2000" or the "Prawn Snack" or a misspelling of "Nebulous" . . .

So, every pickup is available. Only need to change out the tuners to lollis and it's set!

Smith said he designed it as a tribute to 60s Danelectro, Kay type short scales. I think it seems pretty successful in that regard, and probably more practical (easier to get good tone, stay in tune, etc.). If this was a medium scale it would probably give me as much gas as lunch at Taco Bell.

Looks cool - I kinda want one now. But I'd rather hear it through my own rig first as it's really clanky in that vid. Most likely the fault of the vid not the bass, but who knows for sure?

So just to clarify, the push/pull activates the neck pickup, so you can switch on bridge & neck together, or all 3, like the popular Strat mod - is that correct?
