I am glad I found this site and the pictures of that bass. I have an early 1957 version of that model - yeah, they were like that until later in the year - serial # 15199. I had to laugh after reading about the RELIC stamp. I found my bass in the basement of some kid's basement in it's old rotted case back in 1975. It had been sanded down to bare wood by his uncle and left there. I got it in exchange for some old drum hardware; roughly $25. I fine sanded it and covered it with clear poly to seal it and it has been that way until now. I have found a luthier who will refret it for me and refinish it like the one here in nitro. That was yesterday so I can't wait. I'll post some pics when I get it back.

That's a really interesting point, does anyone know if that's definitely the case, before I approach the seller?
99% sure, my strat is stamped, even in the tremelo cavity.
