Fender Japan '62 Reissue Jazz Bass Walnut

Hi!

I'm a long time viewer, first time poster. Sorry if I make mistakes with the forum rules.

I just purchased this bass off eBay (not something I usually do by the way, I usually like to play basses before I buy them) but I just couldn't resist the finish on this bass!

The listing says "2010-2012" but I did a serial search for MIJ U049796 and it came up as 1995-1996.

Is this good? Is it better that it's older, from the Fuji-gen Plant? Or did I just make a bad mistake and purchase a rubbish bass...
