Hey there, tis been a while since ive posted here but thought a few of you may appreciate a piccy of a mod ive been meaning to do for ages.

Thanks to the guys at greasygroove creating a clear pickguard, my bass now looks like this! :)

Beautiful grain! Just my opinion, but traditionalist that I am, I think I'd prefer a black or tort pickguard. Maybe it's because I don't like the visible control cavity. But I can certainly understand why you'd want to show off as much of that wood as possible. Sweet-looking bass either way.

Did the bass start out with that colour/finish? If not then how did you get it looking so cool? What steps did you take to change it and how? What was it like originally?

yeap, bass was exactly as above except with the standard 3-ply black guard fitted.

after i realised the japan models have that clean routing plus the sweet grain was continued all over i felt the need to do it. Plus in a strange way, seeing the electronics is quite a cool side effect.
