Last night while whiling away an evening as I was away from home for my day job I went into the Guitar Center in Greensboro, NC. There on the bass wall at the very top was one of the special edition 50th anniversary fender jazz beauties. Of course I played it. Neck felt great but I couldn't really play it because the covers over the pups. How do people play with all that in the way? Anyway. A finely put together instrument and really a top notch production from what I could tell.

Has anyone ever bought one of these here on TB?

I own one. It's a great bass. It's very light and well put together. It's my 4th Jazz and seems built for roundwound strings. The tone is vintage Jazz but the 60-cycle hum is kicking when you solo either pickup.

I took the bridge cover off but kept the front pickup cover on, mostly for looks. I would recommend this bass. I had it professionally set up but it was pretty great right out of the box.
