Fender Jazz Bass maybe 72?

This bass lived for in Rio, Brazil (close to the beach) at least from 1994 to 2010 (maybe more!)

I'm curious why the aftermarket de-tuner has every bit the amount of rust & grime as the seemingly original tuners. This suggests artificial aging to me for whatever reason. Maybe to make it match the others; Maybe there was a complete relic treatment done to this bass.

I'm guessing both the bridge and tuner were replaced back in the 70s. That bass obviously have been ridden hard and put away wet.

could be 72', even 62', also there could be made some small changes in time gone. The price could be 1800E

LOL....that neck is definitely not a '62. Fender used clay dots on the necks then, not bar markers. IIRC, the bar markers came out in either 1966 or 97. I had a '65.

Regardless of value/originality, I would rock that thing any day. If you decided to sell, I don't think you'd have any problems unloading it around these parts. It's definitely got the "it" factor.

Note this is a Leo Quan Badass II... Back in my early days the original bridge would have been replaced with a Badass, not a Badass II.

My '71P had a Badass I on it when I bought it in '80. I don't recall when BAIIs started coming out, do you?

I'm curious about exactly when the BAII came out, too. I'm guessing mid/late 70s as it was in response to people routing out their Fenders to make the original BA work.
The original BA was released in the early/mid 70s and designed to replace the plastic saddled Gibson bass bridges of the era.
I put a BAII on my 72 J around 95. Put a Hipshot BT2 on it about a year before that. Even in hardware friendly Colorado, my Hipshot has aged nicely to match the original tuners.
