Fender Jazz with all white pickguard and knobs!!

So I'm thinking of buying a Jazz bass when this 1990's bass comes up for sale locally. I'm just not sure if the pickguard and knobs are original or a later addition to the bass. I've tried searching on the internet, but not come up with anything conclusive. Can anyone help out there?

US Fender did it in 82-83.

And then MIM Fender did it during early 90's when the Standards came out (not Am Standard... It was just 'Standard').
Its easy to tell at a glance; the MIM one has two equal legth jazz pickups.
The US one will have the traditional regular long&short length pickups.

Looks like a black label Fender from the 90s. I’ve got a 97 MIM black jazz bass that looks exactly like that one: strat knobs, one-piece pickguard with 3 ply.

If the logo and text on the headstock are just black then that is likely what you are looking at.
