Fender Jazz

Have you tried doing a web search for the guy? He might have a web page saying exactly what he uses for equipment.
I'm not so sure that is an Active Jazz. I think is a Standard Jazz. I just discovered that at Active Jazz you connect the cable on the sideway of the bass. And I have a DVD with Sharay Reed playing exactly with this bass and i saw that the cable is connected in the front of the bass near the controls. And on Standard Jazz you connect the cable there. What's your opinion about this? And for those of you that have a Standard Jazz or know this model: what kind of pick-ups does this instrument have? Active or Passive? Thanks a lot for your posts.
I've been playing that Sharay Reed clip quite a bit over the last couple of weeks. Love it! the whole performance, the way the bass sounds, how the crowd are totally into it, the tight drums, ...the bass sounds so good.

The AmerDlx FMT have the jack mounted on the side, with no control plate. The regular AmerDlx models have the jack in the same position as the passive models. I think the number of control nobs is greater on the active models. You could try to count them and see if there are more than 3. Check Fender's website for pics too.
Well i know about this Fender that have the jack mounted near the 3 controls and on the head near the tuners writes FENDER JAZZ BASS. And the only model with the tunners on one side that is on fender.com and has this features is the FENDER STANDARD JAZZ BASS. Thanks a lot for paying attention. Bye 
The body shape and headstock pegs look exactly like my '97 standard, I'm not sure if the bodys were very different then for the 5 string actives. My '97 is a keeper!
