Fender Jazz

Hey. I was wondering what people think is the better Bass out of these.

The Fender Jazz Mexican or The Squier Fender Classic Vibe Jazz.

The Fender Jazz American Deluxe or The new Fender Jazz Speical

I want to know because I'm interested in getting a Jazz and have not decided yet if I'll get a cheaper one or a more expensive one but these are the two I like in each price range :)

Opinion please x :)

The MIA Fenders made since 2008 have been great, and consistently so. ButI haven'treally played around on any Deluxes or Specials. Just the straight MIAs.

As far as other J basses under the general Fender umbrella, I personally think the Squier CV blows Fender MIMs out of the water time and again.

I have mixed experiences with the VM (Vintage Modified) Squier Jazz with the natural wood finish, but I played a new Squier VM 77 Jazz in black with maple fretboard and it was very hard to put down.

Personally, I'd recommend the Squier CV or 77 VM over the MIM Fender. MIAs are great if you can afford them, but you can save tons by going with CV and VM Squiers, do a few mods if you like, and get pretty danged close to the MIAs.

You want a Jazz Special? You know it's not really a straight Jazz, but more of a hybrid. It was made in Japan in the '80s...

So, I'm asuming you mean the American Specials. I haven't played one. I would assume it a Highway One without a BAII and a gloss finish. And the Highways are great basses.

Thanks.

I was thinking the deluxe or the CV (My mate in the music shop prefers them to the Mexican ones) to be honest. So the American specials aren't that good? (just affordable version really?) They are £800 ones

I've seen some great prices on the 2008 and after American Standard Jazzes . . . one as low as $700 for a 2009 . . . I don't think you can beat them at prices like that! My number one bass is a 2005 American Standard Jazz bass . . . wouldn't sell it or trade it for anything!!!!
