fender JB vs warwick corvette passive

How would the sound of these two basses compare ? Is their sound similar with subtle differences or are they two completely different beasts ?

I wish I could try them but I can't. Buying a bass online is a real headache :s

I have both, only my Corvette is a Proline that can be played in the passive. The biggest differences with be the necks and the weights. Fender have a much faster neck and are a few pounds lighter.
Sound, I play the Proline a lot because it has a rich ballzy bottom. The Fender has balls and a better trade and resale factor.

I have both. The Warwick has a more mid centered tone no matter what strings you put on it... especially the bubinga body Corvettes. Vey fat tone too. Cuts well. The Jazz is, well, a Jazz. It has a nice punchy Fender tone. As I write this all I can think of is that you HAVE to try them both. What sounds good to me may not be what you are looking for. Try going on YouTube and listening to some of each. I'm sure they are both on there. Good luck... love them both.

The Ash bodied Corvette is closer than the Bubinga one, but the neck wood makes a difference - or you could wait for the new RockBass Corvettes Invalid Link Removed which have an alder body and a maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. They'll be even closer to a JB and are getting great reviews from people who've played them in the US.
