what do you guys know about it. seems like a good project/ fixer upper type bass. the neck appears to be bowed and not have a truss rod but normal fender specs so i could replace it with a warmoth or allparts neck.

what you guys think.

ps. im out of cash right now so does somebody want to get this for me as a christmas present:hiding:

I had one a few years back and I liked it more than I expected to. Granted, the one I bought had been tweaked by a prior owner to include EMG pickups, Badass bridge and metal barrel knobs. I paid about $325 for it 6 years ago and sold it for $350 later that year. Going price these days for untouched ones is about $375-$400.

$225 is a good price on this one but factor in spending atleast $150 on a neck (if it truly needs a new one - likely the truss rod can be adjusted by a tech) and $50 on the jack repair, so if it turns out to need a new neck, it's not such a great deal. Also, with the serial number being scratched out sometime in its past, do you really want to be buying a bass that clearly has a dodgy history?

Personally, I'd steer clear.

I picked up one over a year and a half ago for $350. I totally changed everything on it. Hipshot bridge & tuners, Fralin pickups,Jeannie Pickguard, new electronics, even had the inlays changed to abalone (Victor Bailey model made me do it ).......
