The title says it all, I have a '70 Fender Jazz that was formerly my dad's and I'm thinking I'd like to get a Fender bridge cover for it because they look so awesome. However, it has a Badass II bridge, and it occured to me that the dimensions might not be the same. It would really suck if it prevented me from getting one, but I wanted to know if anyone knew for sure if this works or not. Thanks.

Fender Logo Bridge Cover w/Badass II Bridge

I know the standard sized ones don't fit over a badass II. The BAII is a really big bridge & much wider and longer than the standard Fender piece of tin. You'll have to mail some companies with the dimensions of the bridge and see if someone can make you one.
I've never found what that "good reason" was. Installing a BA bridge and DiMarzio's was the 'hip' thing to do back in the 70's.
I prefer the sound of the stock bridge.

The sustain thing? My stock Fender bridges delivers more than enough. Added mass, more sustain - well, maybe in theory. Means little when you're on stage.
Intonation? My basses' intonation is perfect from fret 1 to fret 20.

I had a 1976 Jazz with the original "F" bridge cover and it fit fine over the badass II that was on there. I am not sure if they changed the size of those over the years.

Thanks everybody. I don't know what the reason was that my dad switched it out, I'm sure it was just that he heard that it would sound better. I'm very seriously considering switching it out (it may be vain, but the main reason is that those covers just look soo good haha).
Now the real question: as long as I'm switching it, shall I just go with the stock bridge or is there another one the same size that might be preferable?
