Hi guys, need some help in dating a used neck I recently bought (online...I know, I know...).
Seller states it comes from a 1981 P- special, but the headstock has been sanded, so no more info’s there, on the heel there’s the “J Torres” and a 0102+2*01 stamps (see the pics).
Few info’s but it is all I have, can anybody be so kind to help me? Thanks a lot!!

Is the string tree gone?

Even if it is gone, there might be an impression left in the wood from it.
The Specials used rectangular trees, while regular P's of course had round ones. See if you can spot it.

unfortunately both string tree and tuning pegs are gone, probably taken out when the headstock has been sanded. Thanks!
