Fender or Avatar for Bassman 100T

TalkBass logic: "Hi, I'd like opinions on A or B brand on 4x10's".

Answer: C brand with 15"...

Unbelievable.

Maybe you missed this part.

How much are you realistically looking at spending?

This is a question to determine if something high end like a Berg 410 is an option.

For me, I would want to pair that amp up with a nice 15PR400 loaded 215.

The last part is my preference, and is a statement based upon what I would use with the OP's amp. It doesnt circumvent the OP from collecting information on 410's or from answering a question about budget. If you have a different opinion, by all means please suggest something to the OP that is useful, as your posts in this thread so far have not been.

Something I really miss in forums, is objectivity.

I don't mean disrespect, it's just an observation.

The OP asked opinions about 4x10"s and he's between Fender or Avatar.

Well, with that information, one must conclude that he likes 10" speakers and is on a budget, since Fender and Avatar are budget cabs.

So, he wants to know which of the two is better.

For the ones who like 10" speakers, even the best 15" won't serve him.

That's it, so easy. Unfortunately, it happens all the time here.

I'll soon post a topic about opinions on what cabs and amp I should buy to build my dream rig. But I'm reticent in doing it and not getting a clear answer. Well it might be just me being picky today. Ignore.

Well, now my opinion:

Based on what I've heard and reviews read, I'd vote for the Avatar.

Having owned a 100T, I would say get make sure you get an efficient cabinet. I found the 100 watts a little limiting with some speakers, but that has not been the case for most others. The Fender neo 410 cabinet sounds superb with the 100T, and is a tried and true combination. If the Avatar has similar efficiency and sounds good to you there is no reason why it can't be just as successful.
If it was me I would go with the Fender and have a matched rig.

I'm pretty much going to stick with the 4x10 setup for this. Any opinions on those?

Matching Fender Bassman Pro Neo 410 all the way! It's reputation as an open; airy, natural tone monster is superb. tedsalt has a pair of them for his newly acquired Fender Rumble 500. Gougedeye uses the 610 with both his Super Bassman and his Rumble 350. Those that have these stellar cabs love them. :) No, I don't own either :crying:
